Events
School of Magic is back! Get your pointy hats and wands at the ready for February Half-Term. Our trail and treasure hunt opens on the 15th February, and runs until 2nd March.
Our wizarding master classes will be running on the weekends of the 15th, 16th, 22nd & 24rd February, and 1st & 2nd March, and we will be offering a smaller scale version during the weeks of 17th to 21st and 24th to 28th February. You can find more information and tickets here.
Don't forget to enter our fancy dress competition by dressing in your best witch or wizard outfit. Tag us in your photos on social media or email us, and we will choose our favourite to win a magic prize!
If you would like to visit without taking part in School of Magic, you can! Our Castle & Gardens visitor route is open as normal and bookable on this page.
In a bit more detail...
We will be open from 10am - 5pm, with last admission at 3:30pm. Our gift shop closes at 4pm so make sure you head up to the terrace if you wish to make any purchases.
We advise all visitors to pre-book prior to arriving, and ask that all visitors check-in at the visitors centre, located next to the car park.
The majority of the main building remains a ruin so access is limited. However, we do have several interior areas available along the visitor route. Click on the link to find out what to expect during your visit to Gwrych Castle.
You will receive a confirmation email with check-in instructions, and directions to Gwrych Castle once you've booked your tickets. Head over to our FAQ page to find out more.
FACILITIES
- Self-guided tour
- Photo challenge
- Gift shop
- Dog friendly (dogs are to be kept on leads at all times)
- Temporary toilets
- We have light snacks and hot & cold drinks available to purchase in the shop.
ACCESSIBILITY
Gwrych Castle was built into a hill, and this means that the terrain can be uneven, often with many steps, slopes, and steep footpaths throughout the estate. Sensible footwear is always recommended. Many of the footpaths along our standard visitor route are unsuitable for pushchairs, self-drive three wheeled vehicles, or wheelchairs.
We do offer an accessible route for disabled visitors with a blue badge, so please make us aware at the Ticket Office if you require disabled parking. This route avoids steps but does include a slope leading up to Stable Court, which can be tiring for a person assisting. The gardens and the Chapel are both accessed via steps so are not accessible to wheelchair users. Please read here for more information.
